Hacking the Ministry with The Shoe that Grows
Because International believes in the power of small things.
We are not the biggest, the smartest, or the best. We are just a bunch of regular, hard-working people who try to help kids around the world in practical, straightforward ways.
Our first innovation is an expandable shoe called The Shoe That Grows. It adjusts five sizes and lasts for years. Kids all over the world can have their feet protected with a shoe that will grow right along with them. Shoes are small things that make a BIG difference for kids health, education, and confidence.
We try to hack compassion by focusing on “small”. Often, social issues can seem gigantic and overwhelming. Or people can lose motivation to help others because they think they don’t have the perfect solution to assist in the ideal way. We believe in practical compassion – because small things really can make a BIG difference.
We didn’t know exactly what we were doing when we got started. But we saw a need – and we jumped in. Our solution doesn’t solve the issue entirely. But it does make a difference. And making a difference brings a measure of help, hope, and healing that wasn’t there before.
So maybe our hack is just a mini-hack. But we have seen the power of small things. And everybody can do something small to help others.
